BIOGRAPHY
Marie DiMestico Peters is an abstract artist whose work explores movement, time, and the evolving rhythms of life. Working fluidly across painting, printmaking, collage, and photography, she creates layered compositions where color, gesture, and texture suggest motion and transformation.
Over a career spanning more than six decades, Peters has developed a substantial body of work that moves across media while maintaining a consistent interest in abstraction and visual rhythm.
Peters earned a BFA in Painting and Illustration from Massachusetts College of Art in 1961 and later completed an MA in Painting and Printmaking at the Pius XII Institute in Florence, Italy. Her work has been recognized in national juried exhibitions, including two Medals of Honor from the National Association of Women Artists and a purchase prize from the Danforth Museum of Art.
She lives and works south of Boston, Massachusetts.
